Happiness matters most……
Ambulance practicals last Saturday was uneventful. My brigade was the general one, so the cases comprise of hypertension, chest pain and more hypertensive patients. There was a case of milk stasis, probably on the way to develop mastitis. Another one - pancreatitis.
Now I get to correct my assumption which was - ambulance admits every patient they see to hospital. Of the 8 patients I saw, only 2 were admitted. This is only 25%.
Another day of ambulance practical coming up this coming Saturday. I wish to see more interesting cases this time.
Isn’t it ironic? We will wish to see good cases, which means somebody has to fall sick, really really sick! So isn’t that indirectly wishing for someone to fall ill so that we could have a glimpse at their sufferings and add it into our memory collection of clinical presentations of different diseases.
So, does this wish helps continue bring business for the medical industry? Is this the real reason more people are falling sick at the cost of producing more doctors for the population?
Think ppl!
As for me, I’d rather see a happy smiling patient than a sick suffering poor being. I might not get to do procedures but I’ll be happy when surrounded by happy people. Being happy matters most after all.
