Insight of happenings in 2006

A most welcomed New Year holiday here alas…..

Wow, its gonna be 2007 in 2 days! I didnt realise 2006 walked past me…. was a busy year i shud say….full of clinical stuff and materials to be ingested….some indigested…. =p

Improving health to some extend with seldom attacks of pain but with 2 faints in less than 2 months  which is quite bad and remained undiagnosed.

Realised that recently this blogs sounds more "medic" which i’m unsure good or bad…..

Another important moment this year is the internal med cycle where i got a 76 year old lady as my patient. Learned alot about life from her.

"No matter how much pain you are in,always smile to others and be happy…."

this might give u more time to live….

Mrs Raisa Ivanovna even invited me to her home..how nice of her…  didn’t i tell that almost each day she will ’supply’ me with some sweets or biscuits after examination….. Cheerful and kind lady with complains from almost all systems which left me with a long case report…. one day in the mid of cycle,i went to find her in the ward but there was a visitor. So i sat outside browsing thru her reports. When i got up to leave the dept, she and the visitor came out. So i decided to wait for her. She came with tears in her eyes… the doctor on rounds had told her earlier that she needs to be operated(she has large stomach ulcer). She was so sad and kept repeating to me that she didnt want to undergo the surgery and might die. Even told the story of how her son-in-law past away after op to remove lung cancer. The situation was totally unexpected,i nearly broke into tears too….but managed to control myself. The next day,she was back to her usual smiling face. Later on,the doctors decided not to operate on her.

my last day of internal med cycle was also her day of discharge. She hugged and kissed me on the cheek …. looks like i’ve found a grandma in Nizhny. =)

Friendship….gain many new ones…..also lost few(who were never true frens till some situation revealed)

Bye Bye 2006!

Chronic Unluckiness

Yes,thats a new disease whc is defined as chronic condition of life with persistent symptoms of unlucky episodes.

Exacerbation:Periodic attack of unlucky situation especially during exam such as questions out of lectures in exam tickets. Exacerbation during winter and summer.

Aggravating factors:

1) bad command of english by so called "not-so-qualified-to-teach-in-english" prof??(scroll * for explanation) making students not noe wat to ans as the ques itself not understandable.

2)out of topic questions which are stupid and irrelevant to the subject or the future practice of students.

3)selective marking of students.

EXAM OF HYGIENE proves…….

Paradigm shift…

Filed under: Uncategorized — ilanila at 2:39 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2006

Imagine you’re at the station. While you’re waiting for your train, you notice a kiosk selling biscuits. You buy a box, put them in your travelling bag and then you patiently search for an available seat so you can sit down and enjoy your cookies. Finally you find a seat next to a gentleman. You reach down into your travelling bag and pull out your box of cookies. As you do so, you notice that the gentleman starts watching you intensely.

He stares as you open the box and his eyes follow your hand as you pick up the cookie and bring it to your mouth. Just then he reaches over and takes one of your cookies from the box, and eats it! You’re more than a little surprised at this. Not only does he take one cookie, but he alternates with you. For every one cookie you take, he takes one.

Now, what’s your immediate impression of this guy? Crazy? Greedy? He’s got some nerve?! Can you imagine the words you might use to describe this man to your associates back at the hospital? Meanwhile, you both continue eating the cookies until there’s just one left. To your surprise, the man reaches over and takes it. But then he does something unexpected. He breaks it in half, and gives half to you. After he’s finished with his half he gets up, and without a word, he leaves.

You think to yourself, "Did this really happen?" You’re left sitting there dumbfounded and still hungry. So you go back to the kiosk and buy another box of cookies. You begin opening your new box of cookies when you glance down into your travelling bag. Sitting there in your bag is your original box of Cookies — still unopened.

Only then do you realize that when you reached down earlier, you had reached into the other man’s bag, and grabbed his box of cookies by mistake. Now what do you think of the man? Generous? Tolerant?

You’ve just experienced a profound paradigm shift. You’re seeing things from a new point of view. Is it time to change your paradigm? Can you identify one thing in your life where you need to change your paradigm? time to think…….

Hygienic Requirement to a planning of a kitchen and cooking…

Filed under: Uncategorized — ilanila at 3:46 am on Saturday, December 16, 2006

Hygiene? So wats hygiene all about? Lets see….

According to Macmillan, hygiene = practice of keeping yourself and the things around you clean,in order to prevent illness and disease.

But what are student here in NNSMA taught…

Hygienic requirement of:-

Ecology, Water,Soil,climate..then hospital hyg(basically on how to ‘build’ a hosp),nutrition hyg,child and teenagers hyg(thrs part abt how o build a school??),occupational hyg(inc agriculture??) and lastly radiation hyg…

and read the title! that  ques no 67!

My first impression on hygiene dept was that a place where students will be taught scrubbing, keeping condition of patients at optimal level etc etc….

but after 2 sem of learning … nothing reached my expectations..

now preparing for the exams… weirdly they have exam for hygiene whc is taught for 2 weeks but not urology whc i find much more interesting and important for future practice whc is only taught for 5 days!!

well,i cant seem to "move" coz its not interesting for me abt school and hospital building…. or else i woud have studied for  architect rite?

Enuf  bout crappy hygiene…

Had urology cycle with Вагиф Аxмэдoвич Атдуeв which ended last thurs with a 2.5 hour credit test by Romanov…

Earlier i planned to study hygiene during this cycle since students from other groups mentioned abt uro a boring and not-really-learning subject… but from the 1st day,i found it interesting and put my hygiene notes aside…

now, i’ve only finished small amt of ques where else my groupmates some nearly finish the 106 ques…

regret? at 1st…for a while..but thinking back…. i’m gonna face many kidney failure cases in msia due to massive amt of patients with HPT and Diabetes Mellitus…..and there is many staffs enuf to maintain the light regimen and nutritionists to refer in msian hospital…
